Nutrition and my stance on Dairy!

August 25, 2008

My advice for this month, if you have not already… cut out dairy in your diet completely.  Leading scientists link it to Cancer.  Yes I know lots of dairy-based products in advertising campaigns are promoted as healthy – they want your MONEY sadly.  Those of you who know me well know I follow a Vegan Diet – no meat or diary products at all in my diet.  NoNo to animal protein, yet how am I so muscular?  I eat my greens and vegetables.  I feel this is the way forward because to simplify nutrition without tons of science in two words – ‘less toxins’.

WATCH THIS VIDEO – Professor T. Colin Campbell PhD – World Authority on Nutrition talking about animal protein and dairy.

Yes, I know there are many so-called fitness experts promoting dairy-based protein powders and indeed nutritional courses saying dairy should be part of a balanced diet.  They are not scientists and have not been doing research studies, they are guessing and often have a financial agenda.

If you would like to read some more in depth research and read the work of top scientists go to ‘White Lies’ but also read this article ‘Dairy Monsters’ that appeared in The Guardian in December 2003.

If you are looking to make a transition – basically start eating better… I recommend you contact Barbara Cox at www.nutrichef.co.uk.  Her approach to getting people to eat for optimum health and longevity… is about the best I have come across.  And take a look at Barbara, she walks her talk and looks fantastic!

Responsibility & Exercising

March 18, 2008

13th April 08

The importance of exercising regularly cannot be overlooked.  Exercise improves mental attitude and in my opinion overall ’sense of well-being’.  It has long been known that a positive mental attitude can improve recovery in patients, and even reduce cancer tumours.

Yes… but exercise requires effort.  RESPONSIBILITY is a word we should all try to live by.  And exercising daily is taking basic responsibility for your body and mind.

Think about this…

The NHS in the United Kingdom is in financial crisis.  It is not in this state because of the hard-working Doctors or good Nurses.  It is simply not working financially because it is the responsibility of the British people to look after their health, not the NHS.

Now understand…

Inflation will continue to climb if individuals continue to fail to look after their health.  Taxpayers will have to subsidise the NHS, the smokers who get cancer; the over-weight sedentary individuals who get heart disease, etc, etc.

What is needed by the British public at large to boost the economy in these dark times… is to get fitter, eat healthier and therefore perform better.  Because lets face it… moaning about a recession will just make you more depressed.
